Older Cats Looking For Homes - Welfare and Rescue Page
CATS CURRENTLY NEEDING NEW HOMESAre you considering adopting a Maine Coon?Often the cats that need a new home find themselves in this situation through no fault of their own. The reasons for re-homing are numerous and can vary from an allergy to cats within the household, emigrating to another country or breakdown of a marriage or partnership. Most of the cats looking for new homes have no known medical or behaviour problems, although occasionally they do and you need to have a long chat with the current owner to gain a full understanding of any issues with the cats.
Many of the cats tend to be older – it is very rare to have a kitten that requires a new home. Some cats need to go to homes where there are no other animals or children. Others have no problem with this - it all depends on the individual cat. The website has all the current cats available and it will be updated weekly. You CANNOT sell your cat on this site, all cats go FREE of charge, although obviously we do accept donations as we often have to pay for veterinary bills on cats being rehomed.

ANGELITO & ANGELICA
My beloved, young Maine Coon cats are Angelito, the cream silver shaded boy (I chose their names, it means "little angel" in Spanish), he is known as Lito, pronounced leeto & Angelica the silver tortie tabby & white tabby girl is known as lica, pronounced leeca. These beautiful, loving, large, unique & very special cats, aged just over 1 year, are brother & sister & I would like them to go to their new home TOGETHER please. They are healthy, neutered & spayed, microchipped & vaccinated (boosters due May 2025).
Extraordinarily sadly, I have health issues & my circumstances have changed & seek to re-home them. They are a blessing; they have brought me SO much unconditional love & joy to me & my grown up children & grandchildren & I will miss them desperately. I cannot imagine my life without them, this is breaking my heart & it makes me cry.
They are both extremely playful, friendly & affectionate. they need & thrive on constant love & stimulation & they love to play with toys, especially feather toys on a stick. They have a cat tree where they can sharpen their claws which they love to climb & play & sleep in.
They love everybody, they are extremely affectionate with everyone & they love to play with children. Angelito, gives everyone loving licks & Angelica, is extremely sweet & loving & she purrs constantly.
PLEASE they must ONLY be kept as INDOOR CATS. They need plenty of space to run around INDOORS, ideally, I would want a Catio or a completely cat proofed garden for them.
Most importantly to me new owner/owners MUST have previous experience with cats, a loving person/people who can love them, care for them, adore them, protect them & worship them, giving them constant love, care, protection & attention & happiness, offering them from the depth of their heart/hearts a permanent, happy, secure loving home FOREVER. Even better would be experience with Maine Coons as they are not like ordinary cats. Angelito & Angelica will constantly, greatly reward you with their love, kisses, purrs, licks, trust & affection all day & all night long 💗
If people outside of Milton Keynes are interested, I am not able to drive very far so you would have to be able to collect my babies.
If you can help the owner, find a forever home for these beautiful cats then please contact Jacky our rehome coordinator at mcccrescue@gmail.com. There will be a rehoming donation of £400 for these 2 cats.

WELLY & FITZIE
Two neutered 3-year-old boys (brothers) looking for new home together. Welly is a cream silver and white and Fitzie is a Red Tabby & White. As they are bonded brothers they need to go together.
My wife passed away last week, and I plan to move to Devon to be with my family.
They are happy in the company of dogs but have not had experience of other cats so would be better to be the only cats in the house. They are also not used to young children.
They are good in the house and use litter tray. Will require a cat safe small garden with fence with top netting or a catio. They are quite particular about their diet and favour Felix as good as it gets fish in jelly diet. They have a can of tuna in spring water every Friday morning.
I am living in Foulsham, Norfolk about 16 miles from Norwich.
If you can offer these boys their forever home please contact Jacky, our rehoming coordinator at mcccrescue@gmail.com. The rehoming donation will be £300 for the pair.

MILO
I am looking for a loving pet free home for Milo who is 7 1/2 yrs old. He’s a neutered male Maine Coon, red silver tabby. He has a full TICA pedigree.
Milo came to us last October 2024, from a couple who unfortunately was going through life changing health issues and unfortunately weren’t able to care for their 3 Maine Coons (Milo and his 2 brothers. Bear & Foxy) and initially asked if I could take just 2 off them which I did last August 2024. They both settled in really well with our 2 Maine Coons and 2 moggies but the couple contacted me asking if I would also have Milo as they both felt he wasn’t settling without his 2 brothers.
When Milo joined us he was quite aggressive towards his brothers and the other 4 grabbing and biting them, but this settled in a few weeks, albeit his behaviour has continued sporadically.
I have decided that Milo would be happier if he had a home without other cats, he’s not really close to the others and struggles to accept the others, likes his own space, going off to be by himself most of the day. He is not used to dogs or young children so really needs to be an only pet.
When he’s around the others he can become very dominant attacking the others which is now becoming a daily thing. I feel he would do best in a quieter environment where he feels more at ease and would thrive in a household with no young children and no other pets and with someone who is experienced with Maine Coons and understands they need proper nutrition, regular vet checks and dedicated care. He can be affectionate and will come for head bumps but he doesn’t like being picked up and held. He enjoys going into the Catio, watching birds and running up the scratch posts. He is not an outside cat and would not do well as he’s always been indoors. So ideally is looking for an indoor home with a catio or a pet secured garden.Milo has always been raw fed and always uses his litter tray. He also likes the odd Day-old chick.
Milo does occasionally have issues with his eyes and if not checked regularly can lead to him suffering with conjunctivitis and dry eyes. His eye condition is called Punctate Keratitis and sometimes it looks like he has ulcers on his eyes. This clears up really well with drops daily for a week or 2 which he amicably accepts. This is and will be an ongoing thing but the eye drops are reasonably priced. The vet thinks he may carry the herpes virus, as this is usually related to these typical eye problems. Milo is currently insured with Pet Plan and this can be transferred to a new owner if this is something they want, however this will not cover the issues with his eyes as he’s suffered with dry eye for some time. He is micro chipped and did have his first lot of injections as a kitten and a few boosters but they are not up to date. This is a difficult decision for me, I have tried to help him settle with feliway diffusers etc but I feel the health and wellbeing of all my other cats are now a priority. I cannot leave him alone with them without worry of him attacking them.
I’m not asking for any payment but a donation to the Maine Coon Cat club would be appreciated as they have helped with vet fees towards Bears gall bladder removal as he wasn’t insured when he came to us and was quite poorly when he arrived, unbeknown to the previous owners.

I just want the assurance that Milo will be loved and be well cared for and this will be his forever home. I would love to stay in touch with his new family, as he means a lot to me and I’m so upset that I have had to make this horrendous decision. Milo is currently in Sheffield, South Yorkshire but transport can be arranged within a two-hour drive for the right home.If you are interested or know someone who might be, please contact Jacky, MCCC Rehoming Coordinator at mcccrescue@gmail.com Let’s help Milo find a wonderful new beginning! ❤️The rehoming donation for Milo will be £75.
