Older Cats Looking For Homes - Welfare and Rescue Page
CATS CURRENTLY NEEDING NEW HOMESAre you considering adopting a Maine Coon?Often the cats that need a new home find themselves in this situation through no fault of their own. The reasons for re-homing are numerous and can vary from an allergy to cats within the household, emigrating to another country or breakdown of a marriage or partnership. Most of the cats looking for new homes have no known medical or behaviour problems, although occasionally they do and you need to have a long chat with the current owner to gain a full understanding of any issues with the cats.
Many of the cats tend to be older – it is very rare to have a kitten that requires a new home. Some cats need to go to homes where there are no other animals or children. Others have no problem with this - it all depends on the individual cat. The website has all the current cats available and it will be updated weekly. You CANNOT sell your cat on this site, all cats go FREE of charge, although obviously we do accept donations as we often have to pay for veterinary bills on cats being rehomed.

RO-SHEEN
Ro-Sheen is a 3-year-old brown tortie tabby and white Maine Coon. She is looking for her forever home due to owners’ health and living circumstances. She is vaccinated and microchipped. Ro-sheen is a playful young cat who likes to play with her toys/people. She is more comfortable with smaller groups of people (1-3) as she can get scared/shy if it’s a bigger group, especially when she doesn’t know them. She has not had any interaction with children or dogs, so she would be better in a home without them. She lives with an elderly cat and they get along fine, but we think she would suit a cat more her own age to play with, so she is fine with other cats (preferably male). She’s an independent cat, not a lap cat but she has a loving personality and likes to be stroked. She sleeps on my bed most nights. She is an indoor cat but does currently have access to a fully cat proofed garden so we would be looking for something similar or a catio. She cannot be allowed to free roam. She likes watching out of the window, but is scared by loud sounds. She eats both wet and dry cat food and loves her treats! If you can offer Ro-sheen her forever home please contact Jacky our Rehoming Co-ordinator at mcccrescue@gmail.com. There will be a rehoming donation of £225 for Ro-Sheen

LISSA
Lissa is a 4-year-old smoke Maine Coon who is looking for his forever home. He is neutered, micro chipped and vaccinated.
Lissa would do best in a calm and peaceful environment with someone who can dedicate sufficient time to him to help him gain the confidence he needs to flourish. The space I have is not suitable for him as he is not adapting well to living with an established cat within limited space, so would be better as a single cat. Due to this stress he is stress urinating, but this will resolve once he is in an only cat home. He has been seen and treated by a vet for a urinary infection.
He has never lived with dogs or young children so a dog free household would be best for him. He is an indoor cat, who has gone out under supervision so ideally would suit a cat proofed garden or catio.
He is a shy and smart cat and will likely do best in a home that has owned cats previously as they will have experience in handling his shyness.
If you can offer Lissa his forever home then please contact Jacky our rehoming coordinator at mcccrescue@gmail.com. There will be a rehoming donation of £150 for Lissa.
