Is Your Cat Show Quality?

If you are thinking of showing your Maine Coon, we advise that you to talk to your cat's breeder or another experienced person about whether your cat may be show quality. The club will try to help if you cannot find anyone to support you. Here is a document, written for judges and breeders, which many people have found helpful when they want to learn more about the breed or are wondering whether their cat is show quality. It goes though what the Maine Coon should look like (known as "type") and faults to look out for. It is a combination of photos and text, we hope that anyone interested in learning more about the Maine Coon will find it very useful. Remember, if you are unsure about something, then don't hesitate to ask. Feel free to contact any of the committee if you are looking for help or advice on any subject.

Remember that the most important thing about showing, is that you and your cat both enjoy the experience. No cat is perfect, all cats have some feature that could be improved - the perfect cat has not yet been born!
