Introducing the Maine Coon

The Maine Coon is one of the largest domestc breeds of cat, evolving as an effective hunter on the farms of the north-eastern states of America in the 1800s. Known for having a gentle laid back attitude to life, usually accepting new situations and surroundings quickly, they are know for behaving rather clown-like and make wonderful pets for both single person households and families. They do have their crazy half hour periods, many love retreaving toys when thrown for them and enjoy any interactive toys and games. They will certainly keep you entertained with their antics. Here you will find out lots of information about the breed - where it came from, how its popularity grew, Maine Coon colours, health and care as well as what the breed should look like.
